Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Our 2017 Marty’s Vineyard Pinot Noir greets the nose with a fresh perfume of floral and fruit notes. This wine is dense upon entry, with chewy tannins that create complexity on the palate. Flavors of forest floor and wet stone create a layered experience from the first sip, with lush Santa Rosa plum and cola notes taking hold as it moves through the mid-palate. The wine is lively and bright from start to finish.
Vineyard Notes
Marty’s Vineyard is in the very cool area of Green Valley in the Russian River Valley. It sits high atop a hill overlooking the Russian River Valley and is often blanketed in fog until midday. Sandy Goldridge soils along with the vineyard’s coastal proximity create vines that are balanced, require minimal – if any – water during the growing season, grow and mature evenly, and ripen without seeing temperatures above 88 degrees. The resulting grapes are filled with spicy red fruit notes, elegant tannins, and concentrated flavors.
Production Notes
Earth aromas of soil and black tea sport the nose of this wine that's sourced from a cool spot in the Green Valley. Black cherry, plum and cardamom revolve around supple, lengthy tannins and integrated oak. —V.B.
