16 to 17 months in French oak (70% new, 30% once-used)
Black cherry aromas are supported by warm baking spices, toasty oak and a hint of molasses. The juicy, dark entry carries promised flavors of cherry and molasses, while the flashy structure fills across the midpalate and progresses into a rich and melting finish. (Tasted January 2014)
The 100-acre Martin Stelling Vineyard, located behind the winery in Oakville,
is the cornerstone of Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon. Planted on some of the most
beautiful, gravelly loam soil in the Napa Valley, the vineyard uniformly produces
wines with supple tannins, bright, forward fruit, and beautiful tannin structure.
