Pure, dark fruit flavors and elegant tannins remind us why we love Cabernet Sauvignon grown in magical hillside locations. We don't make much, and you won't regret adding an extra bottle to your collection.

French oak barrels (48% new, 52% once-used)
The 2016 Element 28 Cabernet Sauvignon presents ample notes of plum and blackberry fruits, surrounded by clove, vanilla, and cardamom. The refined composition of fine-grained tannins and pure dark fruit flavors, with a subtle earthiness and a wonderful natural acidity, form an exceptionally balanced profile that render this wine enjoyable now and for many years to come.
Element 28 is named after the owner of the vineyard, Erik Nickel, who ingeniously came up with the name Element 28, which is “nickel” on the periodic table. Located high in the hills across from Lake Henessey, this vineyard has a nice western exposure, comprised of shallow, gravelly loam soils which produce small vines with loose clusters and small berries. Three different clones offer a variety of concentrated fruit flavors that are hallmarks of this hillside vineyard.
