Tasting Notes
The 2010 Kelham Cabernet Sauvignon has many Bordeaux-like qualities because it captures both dark fruits and earth in a wine with exquisite texture. Berry and cassis are mixed with notes of cigar, bay and herb. More French oak barrels are used for this wine, offering spice, toast and char. This rich palate is equally balanced by beautiful Oakville tannins, offering a long, generous finish. This is a great wine to pair with food and will cellar for many years to come.
Vineyard Notes
Kelham Vineyard is a 52-acre planting located at the base of the western hills
of Oakville. Nickel & Nickel receives fruit from seven acres planted to rootstocks
which offer slightly different nuances to the blend. The soil is comprised of
a well-drained, clay loam, which produces vines and clusters of moderate
size. Some canopy management is performed to allow speckled light on the
grapes which, combined with Oakvilleās warm climate, is perfect for slowly
ripening the fruit.
