The 2011 Martin Stelling Vineyard Cabernet offers bright, berry aromas
accompanied by vanilla, which give a beautiful first impression. Jammy,
blackberry fruit blends nicely with chocolate and cedar on the palate. Spice and
toast from the oak add richness to this wine, and polished tannins melt away as
flavors progress into a long finish.
The 100-acre Martin Stelling Vineyard is located at the base of the western hills
in Oakville, and is the primary vineyard for Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon.
Nickel & Nickel is fortunate to farm two acres of this vineyard. The soils are
composed of deep volcanic loam with underlying clay and gravel.
