Tasting Notes
The 2013 Hayne Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of pomegranate,
wild berries and cedar. As promised by the nose, these notes are mirrored on
the palate and harmonize with subtle notes of chocolate, graphite and toasted
French oak. The rich, dense texture is expressive of a notably age-worthy wine,
while rounded tannins carry the fruit into a long, supple finish.
Vineyard Notes
The Hayne Vineyard is situated in St. Helena at the base of the Mayacamas
Mountains and is well known for its single vineyard wines from the site. The
vines are small to moderate in size due to the gravelly, loam soils and the
vineyard produces small yields. The warm St. Helena temperatures are ideal
for producing jammy fruit and this vineyard tends to be picked at the
beginning of harvest each year.
