Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Abundant fruit and an elevated bouquet of blueberries and cassis lead to flavors of boysenberry, violet and vanilla. Juicy and mouthwatering, this hillside wine possesses round, supple tannins and generous, concentrated fruit flavors that promise to evolve beautifully, should you have the patience to cellar it.
Vineyard Notes
Element 28 is named after the owner of the vineyard, Erik Nickel, who ingeniously came up with the name Element 28, which is “nickel” on the periodic table. Located high in the hills across from Lake Henessey, this vineyard has a nice western exposure, comprised of shallow, gravelly loam soils which produce small vines with loose clusters and small berries. Three different clones offer a variety of concentrated fruit flavors that are hallmarks of this hillside vineyard.
